Abstract:	本稿は，北海道大学AO入試の初年度から3年目までの動向を概観し「選抜型」AO入試の現状について考察することを目的としている。3回にわたる北海道大学AO入試には，全国470高校から総計941名の出願があり242名が合格した。AO入試合格者は前期日程合格者に比べ，大学進学に対してより明確な目的意識を持ち，勉学意欲も高いことが明らかになった。しかし基礎学力の測定方法などの課題が残されていることが指摘された。
