| Abstract: | 本調査は、首都圏住民のボランティアツーリズム参加の実態と意識にかんする初めての定量的調査である。ボランティアツーリズムとは、「ボランティアを旅程に含むツーリズム」、または、「日常生活圏外で行われるボランティア活動」のことであり、東日本大震災以降、日本においても急速に認知度が高まっている。本調査では、国内で最も潜在的な参加者の密度が高いと考えられる首都圏1都3県（東京都、千葉県、神奈川県、埼玉県）を対象としたインターネット調査を行い、1,020件の有効回答を得た。本調査によれば、1割強の回答者が日常生活圏外でのボランティア活動に参加した経験がある。また、東日本大震災の影響により、活動数は2011年に大幅に増加した。そのため、調査の分析にあたっては、東日本大震災関係の活動は、それ以外の活動と分けて分析をした。主な調査内容は、ボランティア活動の内容、参加者のプロフィール、参加者が経験した活動の印象や影響、活動を知ったきっかけ、継続意思の有無とその理由、未経験者の不参加理由や参加のための条件などである。参加のきっかけは既存の社会関係によることが大きいことや、約8割の経験者が継続参加を望んでいることなどが明らかになった。 | | This is the first quantitative survey on the experiences of and interests in volunteer tourism by the residents of the Metropolitan Tokyo Area. Volunteer tourism is tourism including volunteer activities, or in other words, volunteer activities at places not for ordinary daily activities, such as works and schools. Volunteer tourism has become widely recognized after the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011. The target area includes Tokyo, Chiba, Kanagawa, and Saitama, where are thought to have the highest density of the potential volunteer tourists, due to their demographic features and population density. The survey was conducted via an internet survey service provider, with 1,002 completed surveys. According to the survey, approximately 10% of respondents experienced volunteer activities outside of places for their ordinary daily activities. The number of such activities increased significantly after the Great East Japan Earthquake. The report has separate sections for volunteer activities in Tohoku and the others. The survey covers topics, such as kind of activities, profile of participants, experiences by and influences to participants, how to get to know the activities, intention for future participation, and the reasons of non-participation by non-participants. The survey reveals, among many other findings, that existing social relations are the most popular driving force to have new participants involved in such activities, and approximately 80% of the participants are interested in continuing the activities. |
