| Abstract: | ヘルマン（Geoffrey Hellman）は2003年の著作〝Does category theory provide aframework for mathematical structuralism?"（Hellman,2003）において，マックレーン（Saunders Mac Lane）による数学の圏論的基礎付け（Mac Lane&Moerdijk,1992）とアウディ（Steve Awodey）の圏論を用いる構造主義（Awodey,1996）を誤って結びつけた。彼がどのように誤ったかは，アウディの圏論を用いる構造主義の実際を見ることで理解できる。さらにアウディの構造主義に特徴的な「図式」の概念（Awodey,2004）に対してヘルマンは数学的真理の所在と射のみの立場の一貫性の観点から疑問を呈している（Hellman,2009）。前者の問いは図式の指示の観点から実際に問題であり，後者の疑問は不適切な問題設定であると思われる。 |
