By examining “the collective emotional ambivalence” with concepts of “censorship,” “collective (un)conscious,” and “disavowal,” this paper investigates the shaping process of “the post-colonial subject” who both denies and desires the other's culture. All this argues that the subject possessing a collective conscience and emotion toward the other is cultural production through the development process of the mass media, the arena for the struggles and contradictions of complicated conditions responsible for constructing the globally, nationally, and locally penetrating concept of the “nation.”北海道大学大学院国際広報メディア・観光学院Graduate School of International Media, Communication, and Tourism Studies, Hokkaido University2014-03-18jpndepartmental bulletin paperVoRhttp://hdl.handle.net/2115/55175AA1224631X国際広報メディア・観光学ジャーナルThe Journal of International Media, Communication, and Tourism Studies18523https://eprints.lib.hokudai.ac.jp/dspace/bitstream/2115/55175/1/Jimcts18_02_Kim.pdfapplication/pdf1.95 MB2014-03-18
