Multimode waves propagating in a 2.3 µm diameter taper were coupled with a single whispering gallery mode of a 220 µm sphere, and their coherent interaction resulted in Fano resonance. The asymmetric line shapes of the transmission spectra changed periodically with scanning of the coupling position along the taper. The observed 24 µm period was due to modal dispersion in the tapered fiber.American Institute of Physics2005-06-21engjournal articleVoRhttp://hdl.handle.net/2115/5551http://www.aip.org/https://doi.org/10.1063/1.19510490003-6951Applied Physics Letters86261106https://eprints.lib.hokudai.ac.jp/dspace/bitstream/2115/5551/1/APL86-26.pdfapplication/pdf174.0 KB2005-06-21
