Although the importance of early childhood education has increased along with the growing awareness of improving generic skills such as literacy and numeracy, ASC programs have not received so much attention and it is even hard to get whole picture of their operations due to the limitation of research and information. In remote indigenous communities where academic improvement is a long-standing issue particularly, the impact of Outside-School-Hours-Care (OSHC) activities on fostering generic skills should be considered to be significant. So, this article tries to provide the overview of an ASC program in a remote Indigenous community through the author’s participatory observation and interviews to relevant persons to leave basic information in this field. Identity and Cultural Icons in a Multicultural World : Ethnicity, language, nation7989https://eprints.lib.hokudai.ac.jp/dspace/bitstream/2115/77225/1/5.pdfapplication/pdf730.16 KB2020-03-31
