For a case study of a rural community with isolation possibility, we interviewed residents in Hirai area of Kozagawa town, Wakayama prefecture about the uneasiness and safety feelings they felt during the typhoon No.12 (2011). As a result, we considered the sense of security and the readiness for disaster were formed by the real relationships of actual everyday routine actions. Thus we found that this balance of uneasiness and safety feelings are very unique to this rural community.
