These structures include tunnels, bridges, and storehouses, and while some are still in use, others are not. It is thought that these structures were made around 1903-07, when the railway opened. So far, these brick structures are not particularly well known, and have come to be secretly dismantled. From now on, we should devise a way to get the people of many towns to know about these structures while investigating the detailed history and construction of them. These structures supported the modernization of the towns and Japan, and it can be said that the structures remaining in Urahoro are valuable cultural assets. Future generations should inherit the historical legacy of these brick structures along with the history of the railroad.
