In this paper, we demonstrate two types of breathing chimeras: The type I breathing chimera looks the same as the stationary chimera at a glance, while the type II consists of multiple coherent regions with different average frequencies. Moreover, it is shown that the type I changes to the type II by increasing the breathing amplitude. Furthermore, we develop a self-consistent analysis of the local order parameter, which can be applied to breathing chimeras, and numerically demonstrate this analysis in the present system.American Physical Society (APS)Journal Articleapplication/pdfhttp://hdl.handle.net/2115/78765https://eprints.lib.hokudai.ac.jp/dspace/bitstream/2115/78765/1/Phys.%20Rev.%20E%20101-6_062203.pdf1539-3755Physical Review E10160622032020-06-02enginfo:doi/10.1103/PhysRevE.101.062203Copyright 2020 by The American Physical Society.publisher
