We present a rare case of thymoma accompanied by SPSsuccessfully treated using surgery.Presentation of Case: A 26-year-old woman presented with lower limbs convulsions andgait disturbance and complained of leg pain. Cerebrospinal fluid and blood test resultsshowed a high level of anti-glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) antibodies. Computedtomography showed anterior mediastinal tumor suggestive of a thymoma. She underwentextended thymectomy, and her symptoms gradually improved after surgery. No evidenceof recurrent thymoma and SPS has been observed over 44 months. Conclusion: Surgical treatment would be effective for patients with SPS and thymoma. The Editorial Committee of Annals of Thoracic and Cardiovascular SurgeryJournal Articleapplication/pdfhttp://hdl.handle.net/2115/87640https://eprints.lib.hokudai.ac.jp/dspace/bitstream/2115/87640/2/Ann%20Thorac%20Cardiovasc%20Surg%20cr.21-00052.pdf1341-10982186-1005Annals of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery2864484522022-12enginfo:doi/10.5761/atcs.cr.21-00052https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/publisher
