Abstract: A Case of Segmental Aplasia of the Wolffian Duct A case of unilateral segmental aplasia of the Wolffian duct with oligoasthenospermia in the bull was encountered in the course of the routine examination of infertile bulls. It was a sixteen-month-old Holstein bull, of which the secondary sexual characters and libido were almost normal. But semen picture showed complete oligoasthenospermia. At the post-mortem examination of its sex organs, both testes showed normal, but the head, body and tail of the right epididymis were partially absent, while the right ductus deferens was completely absent. Moreover, abnormally-curved right ampulla ductus deferentis and right small seminal vesicle of thumb-head size were observed. The other sex organs were almost normal. Histopathologically, in both testes, the spermatid was observed to be severely degenerated showing pyknotic nucleus and arrested spermatogenesis. The affected right epididymis, ampulla ductus deferentis and seminal vesicle were found to be histoiogically hypoplastic. The pedigree of this case yields information that some infertile bulls of the same ancestry were supposed to have had unfavorable inherited factors.
