Abstract: The Miocene Kawabata-Kotanbetsu-Masuporo Formations in Central Hokkaido are very poor in macrofossils, but they contain abundant and widely distributed fossil pollen and spores. By the study of these pollen floras, it is concluded that Central Hokkaido was under a cool temperate climatic condition during the time when the Kawabata-Kotanbetsu-Masuporo Formations were deposited.
