| Abstract: | 一般日本人が日本語学習者の会話能力をどのような要素に注目して、どのような評価をするかを調べるために、初級学習者の到達度試験として行われたロールプレイを、外国人との接触の経験がほとんどない二人の一般日本人に見せ、自由に印象を述べてもらうという調査を実施した。そこで、日本語教師と一般日本人の評価のポイントの相違点と一致点を分析した。一般日本人は初級学習者の会話能力に対して、正確さよりも円滑なコミュニケーションを支える要素に注目していることがわかった。これは初級会話授業のシラバスとして言語項目だけでなく、円滑なコミュニケーションの遂行に必要な要素を組み込んでいる北海道大学留学生センター日本語研修コースの教材が有効であることの実証的な裏付けになると思われる。また、一般日本人はコミュニケーションを進める上で、表情などの非言語表現を重視している傾向があるようである。さらに、一般日本人と日本語教師は根本的に評価法が異なり、一般日本人は学習者の良い点に注目する傾向にあり、個々の学生のレベルを無意識に考慮して、初級学習者には文法的なミスや日本語としての不自然さに対して寛容に評価しているようである。 | | This study focuses on the question of how ordinary Japanese speakers evaluate Japanese learners' performance in conversation. For this purpose, we showed video recordings of learners' role-plays to two Japanese native speakers and asked their views on learners' performance. We then analyzed the similarities and differences between their viewpoints and those of Japanese teachers. The ordinary Japanese speakers paid attention, not to the accuracy of grammar, but rather to various other elements which facilitate smooth communication. They also tended to evaluate learners' performance according to the lebel of their Japanese ability. Based on this survey we conclude that various communication skills should be included, in addition to grammatical items, in Japanese language conversation syllabuses for elementary learners. |
