アイヌ語弁論大会「イタカン　ロー」は平成９年から開催しており、今年で15回目を迎えます。現在アイヌ語を学ぶ人は道内をはじめ全国各地におり、アイヌ語弁論大会はそうした人たちが日頃の学習成果を発表する場となっております。今年もアイヌ語による弁論部門のほか、カムイユカラをはじめとした口承文芸部門に多くの方々が出場します。本大会は日頃なかなか耳にすることの少ないアイヌ語をじっくり聞ける貴重な大会となっております。スタッフ一同皆様のご来場を心よりお待ちしております。

The annual Itak An Ro Ainu-language speech contest was first held in 1997, making this the 15th such event. Ainu language learners are found not only in Hokkaido but also nationwide, and this contest provides them with opportunities to show the fruits of their efforts. This year too, numerous contestants will demonstrate their skills in the Oratorical Division or the Oral Literature Division, which will include recitals of kamuy yukar (Ainu folk tales in verse form). This will be a precious opportunity to experience the Ainu language, which is rarely heard these days. We hope lots of people will come and enjoy the contest.
