Abstract:	Twelve species of the family Histeridae are recorded from eastern Hokkaido. Of these, Margarinotus (Kurilister) kurbatovi (Tishechkin) is newly recorded from Japan and redescribed. The genus Kurilister Tishechkin is reduced to subgeneric rank in the genus Margarinotus Marseul sensu Wenzel (1944).
