| Abstract: | 2002年に開始した筆者による調査「飲酒に関する大学生の意識調査」において，2013年に至るまで，毎年90%以上の回答者が「聞いたことがない」とする自助組織1がある。断酒会である。回答者である大学生は，断酒会だけではなく，自助組織そのものの概念についても，「経験上わからない」とするものも少なくない。自助組織，そして，日本で生まれた自助組織，断酒会とはなんだろうか。本稿では，「社会学」「教育学」モデルとしての自助組織の概念を捉えることから始め，断酒会を日本型自助組織と位置付け，その設立の経緯，また活動内容と役割について概観する。 | | Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is well established in the United States and Europe. Organized and managed independently by its members, AA is a self-help, mutual-aid organization for anyone who wishes to stop drinking. AA was founded in the United States in 1935 by two alcoholics. As its name suggests, the members remain anonymous, particularly to public media. Using AA's program and traditions as a reference, several spinoff self-help groups for alcoholics and their family member shave been established in different communities, with each of them having been developed according to their respective social systems. Danshukai is Japan's version of AA, but its definitive distinction is that it deliberately abandoned anonymity. As a policy, every member provides his/her name during activities that are designed to raise awareness. Using data, this study traces the establishment of Danshukai , and examines its role in Japanese society. |
