Abstract: Li_2B_4O_7 single crystals 40 mm in diameter and 100 mm long were successfully grown by the pulling-down method . Continuous Powder feeding system enabled to grow long crystals with a controlled diameter. The obtained crystals were water clear and had no macroscopjc defects such as bubbles and cracks.
