Abstract: | This paper focuses on the process of learning organization by farmers participating in Shinano Farming Products’ College, and aims to clarify the process and opportunity for farmers to organize collective learning for community development.
As a result, there was a process of learning organization aimed not only at responding to the learning tasks set by the college, but also setting contradictions arising from real life as learning tasks and seeking ways to overcome them. Furthermore, it was a process of recognizing community development problems as learning issues under the collective consensus of farmers.
There are two opportunities to create such a process in learning organization. The first is that the farmers themselves realized that it was necessary to work on learning organization because the learning at the college at the beginning of the course did not address the actual problems of the farmers. Second, by deriving the basis of the direction and principle of the learning organization from the problems of life, the “community contradiction and conflict” as a living place where people of various economic levels and labor fields coexist was visualized.
In the process of clarifying the structure of the contradiction in such a learning organization, the farmers realized that community development was inseparable from learning organization and formed a learning organization for it. |
