Abstract

1) The authors descrived, as the first report in Japan, the four cases of puppies which were considered that the pathologically identical to Hepatitis contagiosa canis (RUBARTH, 1947). 2) The intranuclear inclusion bodies were confirmed in the vascular endothelia and reticulocytes of liver, spleen, kidneys, adrenal glands, tonsils and brain, bronchial epithelia and liver cells, and epithelial cells of tonsils; the inclusion body detectable cells are those of three germinal layers. The inclusion bodies were acidophilic and manifested the positive result for the Feulgen reaction. 3) Remarkable activities of the reticuloendothelial system and the vascular endothelia, and degenerative changes were observed in these cases. 4) These changes investigated by the authors are considered to be the viral changes.
