Abstract

Although computer automated or semi-automated electron microprobe analyzers have recently been common, personal programs for personal computers are useful for special treatment in EPMA data reduction. They are of course necessary for non-automated ones. Some programs are tested by sample calculations. If difference of atomic number of constituent elements is not large, the results agree well each other. Use of AsKβ and PbLβ lines instead of AsLα and PbMα gave better results for minerals containing As and Pb as main constituents. Programs originally written in BASIC for NEC-type computers were translated into GWBASIC and BASICA under MS-DOS, both for IBM-type ones.
