チラコイド膜から各種界面活性剤を用いて，タンパク組成や酸素発生活性の異なる光化学系II複合体（以下系IIとする）を単離精製することができる．以下，これまでに精製されたいろいろな植物種からの系IIの単離方法を紹介する．
Photosystem II complexes with a variety of protein composition and oxygen-evolving activities can be isolated from various organisms by detergent solubilization of thylakoid membranes. In this chapter, procedures for isolation of various PSII from different organisms were described.
