本節では，植物葉を対象とした分光特性研究の基礎的な知見と，野外における基本的な計測手法について解説し，葉内色素や光合成活性と関連した研究で用いられる評価指標（分光植生指標）について紹介する．
This section explains the fundamental knowledge of the spectrum characteristic research for an ecophysiological study of plant leaf, and introduces the basic measurement technique in the field and general indices (spectral vegetation index) related to the foliar pigment and photosynthesis.
