Abstract
Almost all natural gas hydrates discovered in the world belong to the crystallographic structure I, however, other structures also exist due to variety of gas composition. In this paper, I would like to introduce a case study of double-structure gas hydrates obtained in Lake Baikal, Russia. I also discuss the variety of gas composition that controls crystallographic structure of gas hydrates, and the origin of natural gases that affects to the molecular composition.
