In this paper, rearranged data from the agricultural census was used to identify regional characteristics in the rice sales trends of rice paddy areas. The share of direct sales to consumers followed the same order as rankings by quality and flavor: Kamikawa Chuo〉KitaSorachi〉MinamiSorachi. In sales to shipper organizations other than agricultural cooperatives, Minami Sorachi had the highest share. Of particular note was the share of cooperative entities, which was in the order: Kamikawa Chuo〈KitaSorachi〈Minami Sorachi.
