Abstract

北海道大学国際連携機構相談室における2017年度の活動内容は、個人面接、危機対応、グループワーク・心理教育的活動、留学生を指導・支援する教職員向けコンサルテーションおよび研修であった。個人面談における年間実利用者数は77人、延べ面接回数は687回、延べ面接時間は817時間であった。相談内容の内訳は、心理的な悩みに関する相談が39%、メンタルヘルスに関する相談が25%、修学・進路に関する相談が17%、人間関係の問題に関する相談が14%、その他の相談が5%であった。教職員向けコンサルテーションでは、年間延べ34件の利用があった。2018年度には、学生相談機能強化を目的とする組織改編が行われ、今後、全学的な学生相談体制の整備が期待される。
This report describes the activities and utilization rate of the Hokkaido University Institute for International Collaboration (IIC) Counseling Services. The IIC Counseling Services provides individual counseling, crisis services, group work, and psychoeducational programs to international students and scholars. It also provides consultation services and training sessions for the faculty and staff to better instruct and support international students. The number of students receiving individual counseling was 77 and the total hours spent for counseling sessions were 817 in the year 2017/2018. Among various presenting issues in individual counseling, 39% was psychological issues, 25% was mental health concerns, 17% was academic and career issues, 14% was interpersonal problems, and 5% was others. For group work and psychoeducational activities, a crosscultural experience camp, ice breaking sessions for newly enrolled international students, and other short guidance and lectures were conducted. The number of consultation sessions attended by faculty and staff was 34, and one FD session was provided. As a result of recent university restructuring, the IIC Counseling Services has been transferred to a newly established section named “Student Advice and Counseling Center”. Expected changes and prospects after the restructuring were addressed.
