This paper discusses the future direction of securing human resources for long-term care for the elderly based on existing literature, situation and problems on human resources for longterm care, and measures taken for securing the human resources. This paper concludes that it is important to develop core human resources for long-term care. In addition, it is beneficial to invite human resource from various areas. Moreover, there is a possibility that a significant number of foreign care workers will be accepted in Japan in the near future, and it will have an impact on securing human resources for long-term care.
