| Abstract: | This paper summarizes the empirical observations obtained through an attempt named Dialogue Forum, which is essentially a series of repetitive and intensive dialogue sessions between nuclear experts and local citizens. The citizens are mostly residents of municipalities adjacent to nuclear facilities. The main observations indicated that contents of the discussions were undergoing an evolutionary process along with gradual increase of mutual trust between citizens and the experts. The empirical observations are elaborated as design guidelines for improving mutual trust between science and technology experts and citizens. |
