The purpose of this paper is to provide an economic assessment of the potential impact of a Free Trade Agreement between Japan and the EU. The standard static Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP)model is used to measure the effects of full trade liberalization. Preliminary results suggest that Japan- EU FTA would not only have a huge impact on the international food and agricultural trade between Japan and the EU but also an adverse effect on the international food and agricultural trade with other trading parties
