Abstract

The disability services office in Hokkaido University was established in April 2013. This study reports the office’s established history and discusses the current facets of its disability services at Hokkaido University. This system is considered a boundary-crossing process, where a support team for students with disabilities has increased, expanded, and now overlaps with other services. The concept of disability services is a universal design for learning, and the support team strives for constructive discussion toward better accommodation for all students. This study analyzes the established history through the view of a team approach that was created by each person taking a step into the fields of the other members.
