Abstract: Raillietina (Raillietina) oligocapsulata n. sp. and R.(R.) demerariensis (DANIELS, 1895) obtained from Sylvilagus brasiliensis, and R.(R.) demerariensis (DANIELS, 1895) from Agouti paca in Venezuela are described. All the raillietinid cestodes reported herein are closely related to the Neotropical mammalian Raillietina, especially R.(R.) demerariensis. However, R.(R.) oligocapsulata n. sp. is distiguished from its congeners by its slender shape and the smaller number of egg capsules (24-44). The new species is also distinct from the North American species of Raillietina from lagomorphs and rodents. R.(R.) demerariensis from Sylvilagus brasiliensis represents the new host record.
