| Abstract: | Seven specimens of a sebastolobid fish, Sebastolobus alascanus Bean, 1890, were collected from the western North Pacific, off northern Honshu Island, Japan. In the waters around Japan, this species had been mainly reported from the Sea of Okhotsk, off Abashiri, Hokkaido and from the Pacific side of the Kuril Islands. This study represents the record of the species from northern Honshu Island, Japan, as well as the southern-most record in the western North Pacific. |
