サステナブルで安心な社会の構築へ向けて : 予防原則という考え方(Towards a Safe and Sustainable Society : Applicability of the Precautionary Perspective)

持続可能で人々が安心して生活できる社会をつくるために、「予防原則」という考え方がどのように役立つかを専門家と市民が一緒に学び考えるための企画です。自然科学、予防医学、公衆衛生学、社会科学など様々な観点から、1.予防原則の概要、2.水俣病からの教訓、3.環境化学物質ばく露による子どもの健康、4.アジアの出生コーホート研究コンソーシアム、5.予防ベースのリスクガバナンス、に関する5つの演題を提供します。その上で、予防的方策とはそもそもどのような考え方を意味するのか、それは私たちのくらしの安全に役立つのか、どのようにして環境を起因とする健康へのダメージを避けることに役立つのか、などの視点から持続可能な社会構築への学びの機会とします。

This symposium will provide a platform for experts and members of the general public to learn and consider how a precautionary perspective is instrumental in creating a safe and sustainable society. The event will focus on topics including 1. the historical background of the Precautionary Principle，2. lessons from Minamata，3. scientific evidence from Hokkaido study on environment and child health，4. contribution of Birth Cohort Consortium in Asia to precautionary perspective，and 5. precaution-based risk governance. We hope to promote discussion on how useful concept of precaution can be to facilitate a more sustainable and safe society.
