Abstract: | A total of fifty species in the family Poaceae were collected on a botanical expedition to the islands of Kunashir and Iturup in the southern Kurils in 2012. The collected Poaceae specimens were confirmed using Flora of the Kuril Islands (Barkalov 2009) for comparison. As a result, Sasa nipponica is considered to be a new record for the Kurils. Two infraspecific taxa, Anthoxanthum odoratum var. alpinum and Elytrigia repens var. aristata, are also considered tobe new records for the Kurils, and Lolium perenne, a naturalized plant, is also new record for the southern Kurils.o the islands of Kunashir and Iturup in the southern Kurils in 2012.
