Abstract:	海洋中・深層におけるプランクトン群集構造と彼らの生命活動による物質収支を明らかにすることは，海洋における物質循環を評価する上で重要である.本稿では西部北太平洋の4定点における表層から水深5800mにおよぶ深層までのプランクトンバイオマスとその群集構造について紹介し，深海生態系の食物網構造について考察を行う.深海でもマイクロバイアルループ(沈降POC-DOC-従属栄養バクテリアー鞭毛虫-渦鞭毛虫)は駆動するものの多細胞動物プランクトンの餌としては表層動物プランクトンからの沈降糞粒などの方がより重要であることが示された.
