Abstract: | This article explores the economic relations of China and Russia in the Far East and Central Asia since 2012, and after Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin took office. It provides an overview of the process and evolution of economic cooperation of the two countries and summarizes the major achievements and problems to date. It analyzes Russia’s “Turn to the East” policy, and the impact of the Ukraine crisis on Sino-Russia economic relations in general. The paper also investigates the relationship of China’s Silk Road Economic Belt and the Russia-dominated Eurasian Economic Union. |
