Abstract: pace geodesy is a practice in which we perform geophysic al studies based on geodetic data observed using space techniques. It has been providing large advances to various disciplines in earth and environmental sciences . S ome of them comes from satellite gravimetry . For example, the earth’s static global gravity field has been a target of space geode tic studies since its earl y age, and first space geodetic determination of the flattering of the earth dates back to 1950s. The GRACE (Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment) satellite system, launched in 2002 , ha s enabled us to track the time - variable gravity field with sp at ial resolution of ~ 300 km and the temporal resolution of ~ 30 days. There are numbers of geophysica l phenomena accompanying mass redistribution and consequent chang es in the gravity field . T racking such changes help us investigate physical processes governing the phenomena . An e arthquake also causes mass re distribution, and has been a scientific targe t of time - variable gravity studies . Th e present study aims at find ing new insights into physical processes associated with earthquakes through the analysis of gravity changes and providing an overview on earthquake - origin gravity changes. This thesis is separated into seven chapters . In Chapters 1 – 6 , I give detail ed seismolog ical studies made by analyzing GRACE data . In Chapter 7 , I conclude th e thesis. Summaries of Chapters 1 – 6 are given below.
