Abstract:	本書は，科研費・基盤A「動物殺しの比較民族誌的研究」（代表：奧野克巳）の研究プロジェクトの成果の一部として編まれたもので，食料や儀礼のために家畜や野生動物を殺す行為を文化人類学的に解釈することを目的としている．研究のために数多くの哺乳動物を「殺している」我々哺乳類学者の行為が人間社会においてどのように位置づけられるのかを，客観的に思考する良い機会であると思い本書を紹介させていただいた．
