| Abstract: | The developable surface in JR.3 has the unique (singular or non-singular) Legendrian lift to the projective cotangent bundle on JR.3 • In this paper we show that the converse assertion holds for singular rule<:! surfaces. We call such a surface a ruled front. We give an explicit form of the generating family of the Legendrian lift of a developable surface ( a ruled front) and study singularities and their stability. |
