| Abstract: | 研究林では小学校や社会人に対し、公開講座や見学会等を行う機会が多くなってきている。この背景には2003年に「環境の保全のための意欲の増進及び環境教育の推進に関する法律」が公布され、環境教育に力を注ぐことが求められているからである。大学における環境教育は、地域貢献という形で行われている事例が多く、そのため「研究林や植物園などの緑地」が自然体験の場として再評価されつつある（鈴木ら，2010）。北大研究林（北方生物圏フィールド科学センター森林圏ステーション）での公開事業は、天塩研究林での「テシオコザクラの公開」、中川研究林での社会人対象の「土曜大学」、雨龍研究林での小学生対象の「森のたんけん隊」、和歌山研究林での森林ガイドを養成して小学生等を対象とした「森から学ぶ理科」などが実施例として挙げられる。本報告では苫小牧研究林の現状と他研究機関の公開事例を紹介し、近頃増えつつあるエコ・ツアーへの対応を含め、次期長期計画策定に向け検討すべき点を提案したい。 |
