| Abstract: | 和歌山研究林（以下、研究林）では、ニホンジカ（以下、シカ）による植栽苗木の食害対策として、柵の設置をはじめ、防止に関する取り組みを行ってきた。しかし、近年まで大きな被害がなかった竹林においてもニホンイノシシ（以下、イノシシ）と思われる新たな食害が生じている。このような被害の拡大は、研究林が位置する平井地区や苗畑のある大川地区も同様で、農作物への被害が地域の深刻な問題となっている。当研究林は、里山に隣接して森林管理を行っていることから、シカの食害防止の取り組みに加え、イノシシやニホンザル、タイワンザル（以下、サル）などによる農林産物の食害防止対策を試みた。本報告では、被害状況や柵の設置などの取り組みを紹介するとともに、今後の問題点について述べる。 |
