| Abstract: | 和歌山研究林の林地面積（427ha）のうち約76%（323ha）が人工造林地となっている。その人工造林地の92%（298ha）が皆伐施業実験林であり、6%（18ha）が択伐複層林施業実験林（以下複層林）として設定されている。同複層林は、当林の南側に位置する窪谷流域の1林班と5林班に所在している。本研究対象地である5林班（図－1）は、1936～1937年植栽のスギ、ヒノキ人工造林地で、1981～1987年度にかけて複層林化のための択伐と樹下植栽を実行して複層林へと誘導された。これまでの施業については、設定当時の複層林計画（表－1）に沿って実行されてきた。しかし、複層林化後17～23年経過した樹下植栽木（以下下層木）の成長は必ずしも良好とはいえない状況である。このことから、下層木の成長に関する環境改善を含め、今後の取り扱い方針の再検討が重要な課題となっている。本林では、これまでにも下層木の成長に関する報告が行われてきた。林内照度と樹下植栽幼樹の成長や複層林化15年経過後の下層木の成長などがある。本研究は、複層林化後17～23年を経過した現在の下層木について年輪幅の時系列変動から見た成長経過と予測に関する報告である。 |
