| Abstract: | 近年、研究林でおこなわれる研究は、大規模化と実験的要素の強い内容へと変化してきた。そして、研究林の業務に占める調査、研究の比率が大きくなった。これまで、研究林の技術職員は主としてフィールドの維持管理を担ってきたが、技官や林業技能補佐員が研究の一部を分担、補助する仕事が増加している。この背景には森林資源の劣化や、原料木材価格の下落等による歳入の減少もあるが、研究林の社会的な役割の変化によるものが大きいだろう。研究林の変化に伴い、現場で対応する技術職員への要望は多様化し、高度化してきた。しかし、研究林における技術職員は、定員削減等により減少する一方であり、適正なフィールドの維持管理や技術の継承等の問題も深刻である。本報告では、苫小牧研究林で最近行った研究の取り組みの一部を簡単に紹介し、その中で苫小牧研究林の技術職員が担当した仕事をもとに、研究林における技術的なサポートについて検討する。 |
