| Abstract: | 条件不利地域とされる豪雪地帯では，雪氷災害が地域の社会経済に負の影響を与えている．しかし現代では，その雪氷や，雪氷災害をも観光活用する事例が散見され，冬季の観光まちづくりに貢献している．この状況下，国内で「雪氷観光」に関する学術研究は存在しない．しかし，当該研究は，地方創生のみならず，環境保全に係る議論をも見据えている．そこで本研究は，「雪氷観光」創造プロセスの再分析と，これに基づく「雪氷観光」の定義づけを試行し，その現代的な意義を考察した．流氷の活用過程では，地域文化と自然科学の両分野での価値創造アプローチが機能し，4象限による促進要因が示された．これを手掛かりに，雪氷学と観光学の両見地から「雪氷観光」の形態分類と行動因子の抽出をした．そして，「雪氷資源」の分類と観光利用状況の評価，さらに観光行動因子の分類と実践状況の分析から，当観光の多様性と独創性が認められた．現代の価値多様化社会では，この両特性の高さが観光客にとって付加価値であることを示し，「雪氷観光」創造の展開が，雪氷の価値向上に貢献していく効果の延長に，人間が雪氷を護る「護雪」の概念が，今後定着し得る可能性を示唆した． | | In heavy snowfall areas, which are designated as disadvantageous areas, snow and ice-related disasters adversely affect the local socio-economy. However, in modern times, there are some cases where snow and ice as well as snow and ice-related disasters are used for tourism, contributing to winter tourism development. In this context, there is a lack of academic research on “snow and ice tourism” in Japan. This academic research foresees not only regional revitalization, but also discussions related to environmental conservation. Therefore, this study examined this process of tourism creation and tried to define “snow and ice tourism”based on it and also considered its modern significance. In the process of promoting the utilization of drift ice, value-creating approaches in both fields of regional culture and natural science worked, and the promotion factors using a four-quadrant were shown. Using this as a clue, this study extracted the morphological classification and behavioral factors of this tourism from the perspective of both glaciology and tourism studies. Subsequently, the diversity and originality of this tourism was recognized from the classification of “snow and ice resources” and the evaluation of tourism utilization as well as the classification of tourism behavior factors and the analysis of practical conditions. In todayʼs value-diverse society, this study showed that high degree of diversity and originality is an added value for tourists. Thus, the concept of “snow preservation” wherein humans protect snow and ice could be established in the future since the development of “snow and ice tourism” would further contribute to the improvement of snow and ice value. |
