Abstract: In this personal account, we summarize our investigations on the asymmetric direct addition of C(sp2)–H bonds to unsaturated bonds, such as C=O and C=C, using cationic iridium/chiral O-linked bidentate phosphoramidite (Me-BIPAM) and S-linked bidentate phosphoramidite (S-Me-BIPAM) catalyst systems.
