Abstract: Oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids produces various oxidized lipids whose absolute configuration (AC) and conformations are difficult to analyze due to their flexibility. Through studies on hydroxy fatty acids, lipid hydroperoxides, and lipid epoxides, this work demonstrates the effectiveness of VCD spectroscopy to elucidate their AC and conformational preferences.
