This paper describes the failure envelope of asphalts and asphaltic mixtures at low temperatures. We conducted the flexural test for asphaltic mixtures and asphalts at low temperatures and tried to convert their flexible fracture properties of asphalts and asphaltic mixtures to tensile fracture properties. The following conclusions resulted from our study; The shapes of failure envelope for asphalts are classified into three typical types, and they do not depend upon the properties of asphalts at low temperatures. The shapes of failure envelope for asphaltic mixtures are similar to those of the asphalts.
