Abstract:	UsamaroTakakura（1867－1944），a pioneer Japanese specialist on nemerteans（phylum Nemertea），established 14 new species and one new genus，Coeia．This paper gives a brief outline of his life and publications，together with the list of his new taxa，the type materials for which are all lost.
