| Abstract: | An idiomatic expression,'to touch heartstrings' comes from a story of the Chinese classics that there was a deep sympathy between performances by a Chinese virtuoso of harp and response from his best friend. This is a good example of the Kansei. The sense of beauty to lead creative activity is tinged with a specific quality of each individual, region or culture. Functions of Kansei are considered on the basis of comparative discussion of three precedent studies about the development and aspects of Kansei. In an advanced information society, an experience to contact with 'ecological information' is a good chance to discover fundamental experience in a relationship between objects and self. When changes of the value of the experience occur in its process, it is an opportunity for Kansei to be vitalized. |
