Abstract: A new method has been developed to determine in-situ the oxygen content in the superconducting Ba2YCu3Ox phase in equilibrium with the oxygen atmosphere from 0.2 to 10atm. The oxygen content was determined by the pressure change in a closed system due to the oxygen evolution from the sample at room temperature and high temperature, The results obtained at the lower pressure showed a good agreement with those determined by other methods. Ba2YCu3Ox absorbed some amount of oxygen during cooling in spite of a high cooling rate for the high pressures of oxygen.
