Abstract: | This paper describes the evaluation methods for porous asphalt in Kyoto Jukan Expressway with long life. It was examined by photography on pavement surface, water permeability test in the fields and three dimensional crack analyses in porous asphalt. Even if the rutting depth in porous asphalt was smaller than 2 mm at high temperature, the aggregate in porous asphalt moved and it affected to the damage of lower layers. Those evaluation methods are useful for long life of porous asphalt and the properties of binder, composition and the figure of crushed stone also affected to life of porous asphalt. It was concluded a long life of porous asphalt connected to the movement of aggregate and it caused to large strain in porous asphalt and it caused to many cracks in porous asphalt. The three dimensional crack analyses can evaluate the damage of each layer in porous asphalt. |
